Elgin Power Solutions’ experienced team can incorporate breakers, disconnect switches, cap switchers, station service, CTs, PTs, or reactors into the design as needed. In addition to pintle-style or 5th-wheel-style trailers, Elgin can also mount capacitor banks on portable skids.
Individual mobile capacitor bank systems can be as large as 100+ MVAR, with voltages ranging from 5 kV to 138 kV. When multiple trailers are necessary or desired, they can be paralleled together end-to-end, side-by-side, or in a T-configuration to accommodate available substation space. Elgin offers a variety of control and SCADA options tailored to your system. We also specialize in packaging zero voltage closing (ZVC) breakers on mobile platforms to minimize transients associated with switching large capacitive loads. The flexibility, ease of installation, and minimal field setup time allow for quick responses to VAR, voltage, and changing system loads.
