Internally fused capacitors
Internally fused power capacitors are ideal for various electrical system applications, including: · Static VAR compensators
· Power factor correction to avoid penalties
· Series and parallel reactive power compensation
· Reducing harmonic voltage and current distortions with passive harmonic filters
The fuses address any faulty internal components until the imbalance protection deactivates the capacitor bank. A key benefit of this technology is the increased reactive power within a single capacitor housing, enabling the installation of capacitor banks in smaller spaces where physical space is limited.

Voltage Surge Capacitors
Analysis of such events reveals that the surge wave initially creates a significant potential difference in the machine coil windings, known as a “peak.” This peak places substantial stress on the dielectric insulation of the machines. By incorporating a capacitor with a specific capacitance value into the circuit, the peak is delayed, thereby reducing the potential difference in the windings. Adding a lightning arrester in parallel with the capacitor further enhances the surge protection.
