Since 1977, Elgin has served as a one-stop shop for customers building a wide range of metal-enclosed custom switchgear applications. Elgin has in-house engineering teams, fabrication facilities, complete assembly, and the ability to fully test equipment.
Flexibility
Elgin offers maximum flexibility by utilizing components from all major manufacturers, including breakers, disconnect switches, fuses, output circuits, CTs, and PTs for metering and protection. Our metal-enclosed switchgear lineups are fabricated in-house with NEMA 3R enclosures for applications up to 35 kV. Additionally, we can integrate OEM metal-clad switchgear if required. For harsh, corrosive environments, we offer enclosures in aluminum or stainless steel.

Elgin provides comprehensive support throughout the equipment’s lifecycle with our in-house team of engineers and field service technicians.
All of Elgin’s enclosures are powder-coated to ANSI C57.12 standards, using a five-step cleaning process followed by a durable, baked-on finish that resists acids, alkalis, sunlight, and salt in corrosive environments. Standard colors include ANSI 61 Dark Gray, ANSI 70 Light Gray, Munsel Green, White, and High Visibility Yellow, with custom colors available upon request.
